The Hamburg Institute for New Media (HAM) today announced an excellent reponse to the call for interest in the use of frequencies for both DVB-H and DMB in the northern part of Germany. The response indicates a great interest in both operating and providing content for the DVB-H "Handy-TV" pilot that will precede the commerical launch of services in the northern part of Germany.

In relation to the proposed DVB-H platform, the call yielded expressions of interest from seven potential network operators and from fourteen potential content providers. The corresponding figures for a parallel call for interest in a DMB-based system were four and four.
